Febrary 27, 2007 The Jerusalem Report (March 5, 2007) brought out an excellent article by Mordechai Beck on my work in helping Jewish institutions look at their space. It's called "Talking to the Walls". I thought Mordechai did an excellent job conveying what I'm doing, how I work and what the results are. It wasn't an easy task, since it's a pretty new way of thinking about how buildings can reflect and actively contibute to an organization's goals. He interviewed Jaynie Schultz, a donor and very active participant in the school I worked on in Dallas, Jack Bialosky, Jr, a senior partner in architectural firm I'm collaborating with in Cleveland, and Irv Rosenthal, the CFO of the UJA-Federation in New York where I helped on the remodel of their office building in Manhattan.
The pictures in the article could have been more illustrative of what I do, but they were the best they could obtain with the deadlines involved. |

February 10-11. A delightful weekend in New Haven with our kids--Yoni, Saskia, Akiva and Yovel. Yoni is working on his Phd there. We had an extremely warm and wonderful Shabbat dinner at the home of Elana and Jim Ponet. Jim is the dynamic Hillel rabbi at Yale and is dreaming up some very imaginative programing and collaborations for us to do in the future. Stay tuned. |

February 9, 2007 One of life's highs! I took our daughter Jackie shopping in New York for her wedding gown. Our last child to get married. What a thrill to see her come out in that first dress. |

February 6-7-8 Continued work on the exciting Fuchs Mizrachi School project. We made some nice headway and developed some new concepts. We had a fascinating meeting with some Amish timber framers who will be giving us a bid on what I hope will prove to be the piece de resistance of the school. I was also introduced to the planners who are rethinking the entire campus on which this school will be located. (They'd like me to be involved in that as well.) |
